Functional Training

Functional Training

Functional training is a classification of exercise which involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life.    


This type of training focuses on compound movement patterns that involve multiple muscle groups and joints working together. 


Functional means we duplicate daily movements like bending, twisting, lifting, loading, pushing, pulling, and squatting. 

What to expect

Functional training is essential for improving quality of life and health for beginners, advanced, or professional athletes.  


We use functional movements for rehabilitation purposes to improve tissue strength, muscle endurance, balance, and neurological efficacy.  


Some of the equipment utilized:

  • balance boards
  • wobble disks/ Bosu
  • wobble blades
  • medicine balls
  • pulley systems
  • resistance bands/ tubing
  • dumbbells 
  • steppers
  • a combination of / or other assistive means
